Welcome to St. Francis Xavier Parish!
As the recently named pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish, I am excited and grateful to be welcoming you to our website. I know of no better faith community within which to pray, deepen, and live our faith.
St. Francis Xavier Parish is a community of people who believe in being church in its beautiful diversity – traditional to contemporary, of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. We seek to live vibrant lives informed by the gospel of Jesus and fed by the Eucharist. We believe that Christ embraces us in each moment, no matter what. We pray, with spirited Eucharistic celebrations at the center of our shared faith life. We learn through our commitment to life-long faith formation in collaboration with St. Cletus and St. John of the Cross Parishes; opportunities include the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), the parish Day School and School of Religious Education for children, QUEST for high school youth, Adult Faith Formation, and SPRED (Special Religious Education). We serve as our prayer and learning direct us to live our faith in our relationships with family and friends, and through parish ministries and community outreach.
Our 3200 households have great affection for this parish, which includes many multi-generation families and many expressions of family. New and longtime parishioners describe St. Francis as a place where you are welcomed as you are and feel you belong. Our diversity is not primarily seen in our ethnicity; yet there is broad economic and social diversity. Parishioners have a strong investment in and commitment to the needs of one another, the local community, and the world; for example, our Ministry of Care to the homebound, the SFX Food Pantry, and our annual youth mission trip and yearly involvement in building homes with Habitat for Humanity.
Thank you for your interest in St. Francis Xavier! I hope that as you explore the pages of our website, you will find the information, opportunities, and faith community you seek. We look forward to your visit to St. Francis Xavier and, perhaps, your decision to continue your journey of faith with us.
May we be grateful to live in the presence of God – always!
