Joan Smigielski Eighth Grade Teacher

Mrs. Smigielski received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from St. Xavier University where she was Vice-President of the Education Club.  A product of Catholic Education herself, she has devoted her life to teaching students in the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Chicago since 1986.  She loves Middle School students and has spent 23 of these years teaching at this level.  In 2014 she joined the St. Francis Xavier School Staff and is currently teaching 7th and 8th grade Social Studies.  She is also a Certified Catechist for the Archdiocese of Chicago.  In her free time, Mrs. Smigielski enjoys cooking and traveling with her family.  Her philosophy to live by: “Never give up!”
