Katie Filbin LRC

Mrs. Filbin received a B.A. in English and Writing from St. Mary’s College and an M.A. in Literature from the University of Illinois-Chicago.  She taught high school English before staying home to raise her family.  Before assuming the position of school librarian in 2016, she worked in the Lyons Township School Library; was a substitute teacher at SFX; and was a co-founder of the school’s Service Program.  She and her husband Paul are the parents of four SFX graduates and have lived in LaGrange Park for over 20 years.  Mrs. Filbin hopes to make the library an inviting place where students can discover great books and learn how to use technology as confident and responsible researchers.
