Anointing of the Sick
The Sacrament of Anointing is for those who are experiencing physical illness, old age or for those who are near death. However, the Sacrament is also intended to heal the tensions, fears and anxieties that affect the mind and, consequently, the body as well. Persons suffering from addictions, psychological disorders, anxiety before serious surgery, debilitating fears for self or family, anguish over a loved one dying or other similar circumstances can be anointed. Serious mental and spiritual illnesses can be what motivate a request for the healing touch of Jesus in the Sacrament of Anointing.
If you or a member of your family would like to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, please call the rectory at 708-352-0168 or email your request. In the case of hospitalization, please contact the parish directly or specifically request that the hospital contact the parish. Hospitals do not routinely inform churches of admissions or emergencies due to Privacy Laws.
